Pebble Beach

Made up of smaller rocks, intertidal dwellers in pebble beach face risks of overheating and desiccation at low tide under sunlight. To deal with this situation, some animals will hide beneath the pebbles (e.g. Purple Climber Crab) or the emptied rock oyster shell cemented to the pebbles (e.g. Flesh-crested Blenny) to keep their temperature low. Purple climber crab, may seize the chance to hunt for other animals too.
