This periwinkle lives on the supralittoral zone especially near the roots or stems of the mangroves.

這種濱螺生活在沿岸地帶，特別是靠近紅樹林的根部或莖部

Usually found adhered on the mangrove stems and leaves during high tide.

漲潮時通常黏附在紅樹林的莖葉上

Has a dark brown rim in the inner rim of the aperture (shell opening) and hence its species name “melano”(black), “stoma”(mouth).

可以透過殼口(aperture)內緣的深棕色邊緣來辨別，因而有“melanostoma”(拉丁文指黑色的開口)之拉丁學名
